Veda Bartringer is a Luxembourgish guitarist and composer whose work explores the intersections of jazz, classical, and world music. Her musical journey began early — she started playing classical piano at the age of eight, later studying classical guitar with Jean-Jacques Wathgen at fourteen, and adding lyrical singing to her artistic palette two years later. These three disciplines have continued to influence her musical expression throughout her career.

At seventeen, Veda discovered jazz — a turning point that led her to study with renowned musicians such as Pit Dahm, Pol Belardi, David Laborier, Jacques Pirotton, and Erik Teuwens. Her passion for improvisation and harmonic exploration brought her to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where she completed a Master’s degree in jazz guitar in 2022. During her studies, she was mentored by Fabien Degryse, Victor Da Costa, Fabrice Alleman, Manu Hermia, Pete Churchill, Arnould Massart, and François Decamps. Through these experiences, she delved into diverse musical worlds, from Brazilian and Indian music to fusion and funk, shaping a unique artistic identity rooted in openness and curiosity.

Veda is an active figure in the Belgian and Luxembourgish jazz scenes and participates in several collaborations that reflect her versatility and artistic depth. In 2019, she co-founded a duo project with Malagasy guitarist Joël Rabesolo — a musical dialogue between cultures that continues to evolve, in 2025 they released their single Arthur’s Room. Since 2020, she has also led her own ensemble, the Veda Bartringer Quartet, alongside Julien Cuvelier, Boris Schmidt, and Maxime Magotteaux. What began as a master’s project soon transformed into a lasting creative collaboration. The quartet released its first album, Deep Space Adventure, in April 2024 — a work that showcases her lyrical guitar playing and compositional voice. That same year, Veda was selected as a laureate of the Propulsion program and was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Luxembourg Music Awards.

Between 2021 and 2023, she collaborated with Belgian singer Ann Vandenplas, performing as an acoustic duo and appearing on national radio stations such as RTBF Vivacité and DH Radio. She also took part in the RTBF Nomade project, directed by Sofian Hamzaoui, and contributed to Kid’s Phil – Une histoire de l’Avent en musique with the Philharmonie Luxembourg. In 2022, she co-created Lumens, a collective with Bernabé Balmelle, Hugo Dudziak, and Charline Flammang, which presented its debut performance at La Ferme Rose in Brussels.
Since 2023, Veda has joined the Ensemble à Plectre municipal d’Esch-sur-Alzette under the direction of Juan Carlos Muñoz and has begun a new project with singer Anna Winkin, exploring the intimate dialogue between guitar and voice.
In 2025, she will launch a new large-scale project — an octet composition that brings together saxophone, flute, guitar, double bass, violin, viola, cello, and drums. The release of the first album is scheduled for the 6th of June 2026 at Philharmonie de Luxembourg and will feature guest artists such as Margaux Vranken and Naïssam Jalal.

Through all her projects, Veda Bartringer continues to seek authenticity, connection, and freedom in sound — crafting a musical universe where jazz meets storytelling, and each note resonates with curiosity and emotion.
